YOUR GROUNDS, ONE AREA AT A TIME

Measure a little.
Learn a lot.

The SmartLawns measurement tool is an optional starting point for advice, not a suitability assessment. Use a map to outline your lawns, or enter areas you already know without loading a map.

Watch: add two areas without a map.

This original, silent walkthrough uses example areas in the actual SmartLawns tool. It contains no customer address or real property measurements.

  1. Choose the right tool.Open Garden, Commercial grounds, Golf course or Sports pitches. These use different area labels.
  2. Choose a map or manual entry. To draw outlines, choose Load satellite map and find the property. Loading the map connects to Google. If you already have an area, choose Add manual area / edit details instead.
  3. Add the areas separately. For mapped areas, select the zone type and use Draw area to trace the boundary. Finish the outline as shown in the tool’s Hints. For manual entry, give each area its label and size in m². Repeat for the next lawn.
  4. Check your totals and keep a copy.Review the Measurements list. Save KML keeps a copy on your device; Open KML lets you bring it back. A full page reload is not a substitute for saving.
  5. Ask for advice when ready.Use Review & enquire to review your areas and continue. Saving a KML does not send your plan to SmartLawns, and you can ask for advice without completing any measurements.

Area is only a starting point. Slopes, trees, access, charging and mowing time still need consideration. The tool does not choose a mower or confirm suitability.
